Dreamwork & Spirituality

The word "psychotherapy" comes from the Greek words "psyche," meaning "soul," and "therapeia," meaning "healing." Therefore, the literal translation of psychotherapy is "soul healing."

Therapy can be a transformative process that guides us to explore our unconscious, revealing forgotten parts of ourselves. By bringing these parts into consciousness, we awaken our true selves and bridge the gap between our unconscious and conscious mind. The goal of therapy is not just to feel better, but to become a more whole and integrated person. At its core, therapy is a process of self-discovery and becoming more integrated as a person. Dreams, fantasies, and spirituality are all valuable tools in this process. I believe that to become more whole, we need to explore all parts of ourselves.

Dreamwork is a powerful tool for exploring the unconscious mind. Carl Jung, a famous psychoanalyst, saw dreamwork as a way to access and explore the hidden parts of ourselves. Dreams are a way for the unconscious to communicate with the conscious mind through symbols and images. By working with our dreams, we can gain insight into our unconscious and learn more about ourselves.

As a therapist, I specialize in working with clients who are spiritual, many of whom work in the healing arts. I do not believe in pathologizing spirituality as a mental condition, and I understand that many of my clients come from various spiritual backgrounds and belief systems. I believe in fostering a sense of cultural sensitivity in my practice as I work with each client to incorporate their own version of spirituality into our therapeutic process.

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing is a collaborative process, and that spirituality and community can be transformative. I work with clients to develop a deeper understanding of their bodies, minds, and spirits, helping them to cultivate a sense of empowerment and resilience in the face of life's challenges.

Through a combination of dreamwork, psychodynamic, and Jungian approaches, I help clients explore the emotional and psychological dimensions of their lives. By exploring dreams and spirituality, we can learn more about ourselves and develop a stronger sense of purpose and alignment with our true selves.

If you are looking to explore your dreams, and process aspects of your spirituality in a safe and supportive environment, I am here to help hold space for you on your healing journey.
