Sarah Manuwal Therapy

ABOUT

Sarah is a compassionate therapist who draws from a blend of somatic, psychoanalytic, and psychodynamic principles to help individuals heal from trauma, eating disorders, creative blocks, relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and life transitions. With a warm and empathetic approach, she creates a safe space for clients to explore and heal the underlying issues that may be holding them back. She welcomes individuals and couples from all walks of life and is committed to helping her clients find the peace and balance they deserve.

With a background in the arts and years of experience in the entertainment industry, Sarah understands the unique challenges and pressures of working in a creative field. Having spent years studying non-traditional healing modalities, such as breath-work, energy healing, and multi-modality Reiki, Sarah knows the importance of taking a holistic approach to healing.

Sarah is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), a highly effective therapy technique that helps individuals process and integrate trauma and anxiety. With the use of bi-lateral stimulation, EMDR gently encourages the brain to find a sense of safety in the present moment.

Sarah received her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and her Bachelor of Arts from New York University. She completed her practicum training at Valley Community Counseling Clinic and co-facilitated the first grief group for adults at the clinic. Sarah is also an LGBTQ+ affirmative therapist and is sensitive to issues related to gender, race, ethnicity, spirituality, privilege, and socioeconomic status.
