Addictions

Addiction is a complex and pervasive issue that affects countless individuals, families, and communities. As an addiction specialist, I understand that addiction is not just a matter of physical dependence or moral weakness, but a symptom of a deeper disconnection from the self and the world around us.  I am committed to helping clients explore the underlying root causes of addiction through therapy. I believe that addiction is a symptom of deeper issues, such as trauma, emotional pain, or unmet needs, and that by addressing these issues, clients can gain greater insight, understanding, and self-awareness.

In therapy, I use a variety of modalities, including Jungian and psychodynamic approaches, to help clients uncover the unconscious patterns and motivations that drive their addictive behaviors. Through a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, clients can explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors in a non-judgmental way and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their addiction. Drawing on the insights of renowned authors and analysts such as Marion Woodman and James Hillman, I believe that addiction is a complex response to complex problems. It is often rooted in a sense of loneliness, disconnection, trauma, or unmet needs that we try to fulfill through substances or behaviors.

My process is focused on empowering clients to take ownership of their healing journey and to develop the skills, tools, and insights needed to overcome addiction. Whether through individual therapy, group therapy, or other modalities, I work collaboratively with clients to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses their unique needs and goals. However, true healing from addiction requires more than just abstinence or willpower. It requires a holistic approach that addresses the underlying issues and facilitates the client's own ability to heal themselves. Through a combination of therapy, community support, and self-discovery, we can help clients gain greater awareness, compassion, and freedom from addiction.

Ultimately, my goal is to help clients break free from the cycle of addiction and to live a life of greater meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please know that there is hope and help available. Through therapy and other forms of support, we can work together to explore the root causes of addiction and pave the way for a brighter future. If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, know that there is hope and help available. With the right support and guidance, it is possible to overcome addiction and live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
